The Government provides funding for primary schools to spend on additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of physical education (PE), physical activity and sport they offer.
Kingsbridge Primary School recognises the contribution of PE to the health and wellbeing of all our children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, learning attitudes and academic achievement.
- We aim to develop all children’s understanding of their physical skills alongside a strategic understanding of how to use and apply skills within a range of games.
- We aim to foster an enjoyment of PE and a love of being “active” in all the children.
- We aim to increase the children’s activity rates throughout the school day.
The Primary PE and Sport Premium enables us enable us to extend our provision by employing PE coaches to support teachers with their professional development within PE. We also utilise sports professionals both during and after the end of the school day, enhancing our extracurricular PE opportunities. We host and enter competitive sports tournaments.
